Getting a Read

Posted by Brent Meier on Aug 18 2009 | General

Hello! Things are moving along here—we had a good time last week at our summer acampamento; making art, playing outside, even visiting the zoo. Now we are cooking up the next batch of family literacy projects and excited to have so much support from Lincoln Public Schools, Lincoln Literacy Council, and Lincoln City Libraries. Our dream team looks to focus on groups of families in both Everett and West Lincoln schools to cultivate a shared interest in theirs and their children’s education.

In other news, less than two weeks until Festival de las Américas, a cultural event for which we are very excited and will feature food, music, and dance from numerous Latin American countries. And better yet, it’s at the Nebraska State Fair, so everyone can enjoy Lincoln’s final hosting of this annual Slice of the Good Life with a side of salsa.

For now, you’ll just have to enjoy these fotos del acampamento:

Thanks to all who helped!

Stop by El Centro for your Festival tickets!

The Festival sounds like a lot of fun! We’re planning to be there to enjoy food, music and dance.
